Op:MB jan ‘26
Operation Mountain Breaker launched only one month ago but we’ve already had a lot of great submissions.
It’s been really hard to choose a winner but after some intense deliberation I’ve got to say I’m a big fan of our inaugural pick for January ‘26 - Simon Jackson’s fantastic British Para Section.
They’re beautifully painted and, while the para heads come with a bit of scrim on them, Simon’s added loads more. Here’s how he did it…
“I made the scrim by picking apart strands of medical bandage - the slightly stretchy sort. I also use this as camo netting on my tanks. It is carefully glued onto the helmets with super glue and arranged with a cocktail stick. It takes an almost Zen-like amount of patience as it's fiddly as hell. You can trim it when it sets rock hard with the glue then paint it and drybrush etc till it looks decent.”
Don’t worry if your entry wasn’t selected this month - all previous submissions stay in the pool of contenders so you may still be an OpMB winner in the future.
Has Simon’s scrim inspired you to submit your own OpMB entry? Got some figures or vehicles you want to show off, a gripping BATREP, a fascinating history article, or an idea for a fun scenario? Head to the OpMB page below, fill in a form and you could win a £50 voucher!
As always, keep it Cold War,
Steffan
