salute 53 game photos

We’re back from Salute 53 and we had a brilliant time!

We ran dozens of intro games for BattlegroundHD using the new East German figures for the first time and with only 4 days until the BRUDERKRIEG 1 Kickstarter goes live, it feels like the perfect opportuntiy to show them off in all their glory.

The scenario we were running was a continuation of our Berlin ‘84 campaign - focusing this time on a high-risk NVA Fallschirmjäger assault on the city’s main civilian airport, Tempelhof.

After a “hard landing”, the daring commandos were tasked with finishing off a damaged but still dangerous American M60 tank, fighting through a USAF security position on the edge of the runway and finally securing their main objective - one of the airport’s control towers - and cutting communications to prevent reinforcement.

Special mention must go to one young East German commander who completely threw the NVA handbook out the window and decided that the RPG as an anti-tank weapon was ineffective and not daring enough. Instead he ordered his RPK team to climb onto the tracked but still operational M60 and try to lever open its turret hatch. They all rolled critical failures for their skill checks, fell off the tank and broke their rifles in the process. By far the most fun of all the games I ran.

Thanks to everyone who came over to say hi - it was a brilliant show and we’re already planning Salute 54!

BRUDERKRIEG 1 launches this Friday, 17th April on Kickstarter:
